Volatile organic compounds treatment system is an important technical means to deal with environmental pollution and protect human health. The selection of suitable volatile organic compounds treatment process should be based on the concentration of its main components, gas flow, physical and chemical properties and take into account the economic benefits of the whole treatment process. In addition, emerging composite treatment technologies, such as adsorption-catalytic combustion method,adsorption-photocatalysis method and low temperature plasma cooperative photocatalysis technology, are considered to be an important direction for the development of volatile organic compound treatment technology because of their good treatment effect and no secondary pollution. Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers (RTOs) are primarily used in applications where the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are present in low concentrations and in large amounts of exhaust flue gas. They are also highly suitable in cases where the VOCs contain corrosive substances that are toxic to the catalyst and that require high temperatures to oxidize some odor. The RTO uses the heat generated by the decomposition of VOCs to preheat and decompose the untreated VOCs, thereby achieving high thermal efficiency.
